Manchester United have sent their sympathies after 30 Nigerian football fans were electrocuted while watching the Red Devils play on Thursday night.
Nigerian police confirm the fans were killed while watching the game in Calabar, Cross River State.
The club sent their condolences, tweeting: ‘Our thoughts go out to the United fans, their friends and families affected by the tragedy in Calabar, Nigeria, yesterday.’
Police say a high tension electric cable fell on the crowd at a viewing centre, after a problem with the centre’s electrical transformer.
