Pope Francis condemns attack on a convoy in Syria

Pope Francis has used his Easter message address to condemn Saturday’s deadly attack on a bus convoy in Syria.

Pope Francis denounced “oppressive regimes” in his Easter message on Sunday but in an apparent call for restraint, he urged world leaders to prevent the spread of conflicts, as tensions rose in North Korea and Syria.

The Pope delivered his message to thousands of pilgrims who gathered in St Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
