Biafra Movement

Two states in the Southeast – Imo and Anambra – seemed to fully comply with the sit- at -home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, and the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra.

Commercial activities were on lock down in Onitsha, the Anambra market town reputed to have the biggest market in West Africa, as well as in the state capital, Awka.

The situation wasn’t different in Imo State where roads were empty. Banks and other businesses in the capital, Owerri were locked.

The roads leading to other major towns were devoid of the usual traffic and street hawkers. Even schools and the state secretariat were empty.
