Delta State Governor and Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa, have said the recent review of cost of projects by his administration is done to keep contractors on site.
Governor Okowa stated this during the inspection of ongoing construction of Isheagu-Ewulu road and bridge in Aniocha South Local Government Area and Section C of the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway.
The Isheagu-Ewulu road and bridge connecting the various agrarian communities in Aniocha South will facilitate the movement of farm produce.
It is therefore a top priority for the state government.
The Delta state government recently reviewed the costs of a number of projects due to inflation-driven increases in the price of construction materials.
The Governor stated further that the review will definitely affect the 2022 budget of the state even as the exchange rate keeps rising.
Some natives of the farming communities appreciated the state government for the ongoing work on the road and bridge stating that it would ease movement of farm produce.
