At least three policemen have been reportedly killed by yet to be identified gunmen in the Maryland area, around the Lomalinda Estate, Enugu.
Although there is conflicting information on the number of casualties, sources put it between three and four.
A source hinted that the gunmen kidnapped a man very close to Treasure Point, along Ugwuaji Road before engaging the police in a shootout.
When contacted, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the attack.
He, however, did not give the casualty figure. Mr Ndukwe said Information surrounding the incident is still sketchy.
The Police imagemaker said the police have initiated manhunt for the hoodlums, with a promise to update with the development.
