The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has indicated that changes in the company will cause its transforming into a complete energy firm away from the present oil and gas.
Group Managing Director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru says the corporation had identified opportunities in the power sector.
According to him, a start up project will generate four megawatts of electricity while exploring the possibility of investing in power transmission.
Baru explained that the corporation’s decision to diversify was hinged on the need to bridge the huge energy gap in Nigeria to help Nigerians live quality life.
