NSCDC parades nine suspected bandits, two informant in Sokoto

Nine suspected armed bandits and two others suspected to be Informants and food suppliers to armed bandits operating along Tureta and Dange/Shuni local government areas in the Southern Senatorial District of Sokoto state have been arrested.

Two of the suspects have confessed to have participated in several attacks including a recent attack on Lambar Tureta and that of Dabagi haske where eight persons were killed in the separate attacks.

Two other suspects accused of supplying foods to bandits and providing the bandits information aiding their operations confessed to the commission of the crimes they are being accused of.

Seven of the nine bandits admitted that they are involved in several cattle rustling within Rabba and Wurno local government areas.

Parading the suspect, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Sokoto state command, Muhammad Saleh-Dada said the suspects were arrested with the support of the men of the Vigilante group in Wurno local government.

He said the seven cattle rustler are engage in banditry terrorising Rabba and Wurno local government before they were apprehended by his men with the support of the vigilante group

He said the large herds of cattle recovered from the suspects are in the custody of officials of Wurno local government area.

Two of the suspected bandits who admitted they have participated many operations said they are hired by some commanders of the bandits group and that they are only paid ten thousand naira per operation.

They said they are willing to lead security operatives to the commanders they are working for in the business of Banditry

The Nigeria security and civil Defence Corps said the suspected will either be handed over to the Department of State Services or be taken to court for prosecution at the end of investigation.
