Image result for Centenary Project: Reps recommend prosecution of Anyim, Bala MohammedThe House of Representatives has recommended the immediate prosecution of former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim and erstwhile FCT Minister, Bala Muhammed, over alleged infractions, in the Abuja centenary city project.

It also urged President Muhammadu Buhari, to direct the revocation of the Centenary City, Plc’s Certificate of Free Trade Zone.

National Assembly Correspondent, Joke Adisa reports that the consideration and adoption of the recommendations of the FCT Committee brought to a climax, the drama that greeted the legislators’ investigations into the alleged scam surrounding the housing project.

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim and the immediate past FCT Minister, Bala Muhammed had shown their displeasure over the investigation.

Anyim accused the Committee chairman, Herman Hembe of demanding a bribe to kill the probe.

But that didn’t stop the lawmakers from going ahead with the task of unravelling the real issues behind the failed project.

At the end of its assignment , the committee recommended Anyim, Muhammed and two other promoters of the project, be tried in a civil court.

As much as this legislator from Anyim’s state tried, he could not change flow of decisions made

The legislators want President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the delisting of the Centenary City Plc from the Free Zone Entity.

As far as the legislators are concerned, the ball is now in President Buhari’s court, to direct the Inspector General of Police as well as relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government to swing to action to implement their resolutions.
