All is set for a hitch-free and colourful flag off Campaign for the Zamfara state APC Governorship Candidate, Bello Matawalle ahead of next year’s General Election.
Three former Governors of the state Senator Ahmad Sani Yeriman Bakura, Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi and Abdulazeez Yari who doubles as the Chairman of the Campaign Council and their deputies are expected to grace the occasion
The Zamfara deputy Governor Hassan Nasiha, Former and serving Ministers, federal and state lawmakers, Abdullahi Wanban Shinkafi among other party chieftains will also attend the event
The mega rally is about to take place in Kaura Namoda Local Government area, which is considered the Headquarters of the Zamfara North Senatorial Zone.
Governor Bello Matawalle was declared Governor under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party in 2019, but defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress in 2021 and is seeking Re-election on the same platform
The Zamfara Governorship Campaign Council for the second term bid of Governor Bello Matawalle will continue on Wednesday in Bakura, for the West Senatorial Zone and Thursday in Bungudu Local Government area for the Central Senatorial Zone
This is the first time in the history of the state that all former Governors, their deputies and all that matters in Zamfara Politics are in same Political party seeking Re-election for the Incumbent
The flag off Campaign will be televised live on TVC NEWS and other Television and Radio stations within and outside the state.
Governor Muhammed Bello Matawalle was until 2021 a member of the Peoples Democratic Party having emerged governor following the disqualification of the candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the lead up to the 2019 Election after an Inter Party squabble that led to a case going as far as the Supreme Court.
He has since faced various challenges chief among them being the issue of insecurity which has led to the death of hundreds, Loss of Property and paying of ransom to bandits to free abductees.
