Over 10,000 internally Displaced Persons taking refuge in Maiduguri, have benefitted from food, non-food items and medical outreach curtesy of a campaign group known as BATISHE, promoting the Presidential candidature of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The items are expected to cushion the effect of the Boko haram insurgency.
These Internally Displaced persons are gathered here today to receive relief items, courtesy of a campaign group known as BATISHE, promoting the Presidential candidature of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The items are meant to bring relieve to victims of insurgency in the state.
The Borno State Government appreciates the gesture and commends the donors for coming to the aid of the less privileged.
The smile on faces of the IDPs show how grateful they are to the Donors.
Aside the food distribution, BATISHE group also provided medial outreach to the IDPs.
The BATISHE Group an acronym of the name of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Aswaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Ahmed Shettima, BATISHE, and is one of the numerous groups that is working to actualise the Presidential aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was a Senator Representing Lagos West in the aborted Third Republic and was the Governor of Lagos State between 1999-2007.
He is credited with resuscitating moribund institutions and Infrastructure in the state and also engendered a turnaround of its fortunes.
He is a founding member of the All Progressives Congress and was also a founding member of the Action Congress which was founded after the crisis that killed the party on whose platform he came to Office in 1999, the Alliance For Democracy.
The party metamorphosed into the Action Congress of Nigeria and later fused with Others to form the All Progressives Congress which succeeded in defeating an incumbent President and ruling party for the first time in the history of party Politics in Nigeria.
