Less than a week after seven persons were kidnapped along Osogbo-Ibokun road in Osun State, two persons have also been kidnapped along Ife/Ibadan express way in a fresh attack.

The incident was said to have happened around Wasinmi area in the Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State when a gang of criminals intercepted and attacked a Toyota Previa commercial Bus with Registration Number, Ondo KTP 331 RG plying Ibadan/Akure expressway by Egbu Village Ikire, where commuters were dispossessed of their valuables and the driver and one other person abducted.

According to findings, prompt response of the officers of the Nigeria Police led to the arrest of three of the suspected criminals while others escaped with the two abductees.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State Police Command, Mrs.  Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.

The State Police Public Relations Officer Yemisi Opalola said a reinforcement of Police Tactical units, JTF, Local hunters, and Vigilantes are still on search/rescue operation in the bush for rescue of the abductees and possible arrest of the fleeing suspects.

She added that those arrested are making useful information to the police urging residents to support security agencies in ridding the state of criminality
