Stakeholders in the Nigerian Domestic Football Scene have described the attack by assailants on the team bus of Adamawa United, as a call for an urgent restructuring of the Football Leagues as security threats become a major concern across the country.
Unknown gunmen attacked players and coaching staff of the NPFL club on Friday night, along the Benin-Ore expressway on their trip for a League game in Lagos, with the team’s Bus Driver kidnapped.
While suggesting that the league should run on regional conference pairings, they called on clubs to ensure their players and officials are properly insured in line with global best practices.
