UPDATED: Police, Army deny knowledge of explosion in Zamfara Village

Spokesman of the Zamfara state Police command, Superintendent Shehu and his Counterpart of Nigerian Army, Operation Sahel Sanity Colonel Iliyasu Suleiman said they have no knowledge of the explosion that killed six teenage girls in a bush near Magamin Diddi Village in Maradun local government area of Zamfara state last Sunday.

Colonel Iliyasu further directed newsmen to reach out to the Defence Headquarters in Abuja for further Clerification.

Six girls were said to have died as a result of hit by an explosion in a bush near Magamin Diddi Village in Maradun local government area.

A resident of the village who pleaded anonymity says an object suspected to be bomb was found by the children in the bush and it exploded and killed them Instantly

According to him, the girls were returning from their farm and found the object on the ground, immediately they picked the object, it exploded and kill the six of them

Maradun Local government area is the home town of the state Governor Bello Matawalle and one of the worst hit by activities of Armed Bandits.
