CCT Chairman approves arraignment of two Judicial officers

Image result for CCT Chairman approves arraignment of two Judicial officersThe Code of Conduct Tribunal Chairman Justice Danladi Yakubu Umar, on Thursday approved the filing of cases against two senior Judicial Officers, namely Justice Sylvester Nwali Ngwuta of Supreme Court and Justice Adeniyi Francis Adetokunbo Ademola of Federal High Court, Abuja.

The Court  in a statement by its head, Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem AL-Hassan,  said the charges were separately received late yesterday directly from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice with charges ranging between non-declaration of asset and false asset declaration against the two Judges, and both were signed by Hajara H. Yusuf, Principal State Counsel, dated 7th February, 2017, for the Hon Attorney General of the Federation.

Justice Sylvester Nwali Ngwuta, was charged with 10 count charge that borders on false assets declaration.Count one states; ‘‘false declaration of assets contrary to section 15 of Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap C15 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria punishable under Section 23 (2) of the same Act. Detail is contained in the charge sheet to count 10.

While Justice Adeniyi Francis Adetokunbo Ademola, was slammed with two count charge on non- declaration of assets, contrary to section 15 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap C15 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and punishable under section 23 (2) of the same Act.

Detail of the count is also contained in the charge sheet.
