Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly killed at least nine suspected terrorists after invading their hideout in some locations in Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.
In the course of the operation, over a dozen women and children held captive were said to have been freed by the gallant troops.
Mr Samuel Aruwan the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement on Thursday explained that the five suspected terrorists were initially neutralized at a river line around Rafin Sarki community.
He further explained that the troops went ahead to invade another suspected terrorists camp in Galadimawa forest, where four bandits were also neutralized in a fierce fire exchange.
According to him, more than a dozen kidnapped women and children were rescued by the troops after they were abandoned by some of their captors who were lucky to escape.
Arms recovered from the slain suspected terrorists include five locally made guns, five rounds of ammunition, four cartridges, a radio and one military jungle hat.
