P&ID controversy: UK Court Verdict, Victory For Ibrahim Magu – Wahab Shittu
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Wahab Shittu, Lawyer to the suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu has said the judgment by the UK Court shows the result of a detailed and thorough investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Mr Shittu said he believes it is a monumental landmark achievement occasioned by the hard work and leadership style of the suspended acting chairman of the anti-graft agency.

“The judgment has indeed greatly relieved Nigeria from the impending and disastrous effect the execution of the $9.6bn judgment would have had on the nation’s fragile economy

“It is rather unfortunate that the handling of the investigation formed part of the allegations against my client because P&ID used the petition by the Attorney-General of the Federation to strengthen its case

“But luckily an upright English judge prudently appreciated the excellent and patriotic efforts of the EFCC under Ibrahim Magu and the ineffectiveness of that petition”, he said.

According to him, rather than punish Mr Magu, he should be given a heroic commendation for saving the country in a huge way.
