Saraki’s CCT trial adjourned to Jan. 17th

The Code of Conduct Tribunal has fixed January the 17th for continued hearing of the trial involving the senate president, Bukola Saraki.

The tribunal arrived at the decision after hours of cross examination of the prosecuting counsel’s first witness, Michael Wetkas.

Cross examination of first witness kicked off amidst arguments from both parties.

The defending counsel’s argument was based on getting clarification on some ambiguities observed from the testimony of the witness.

The prosecuting counsel on the other hand, expressed satisfaction at his testimony and said that the next witness can now be called to testify.

Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Umar who adjourned the case to January the 17th charged the prosecuting counsel to ensure all witnesses are around on the said date.

Bukola Saraki has been on trial since his assumption to office as senate president on allegations of false declaration of assets while he was Governor of Kwara state.
