Wife of the State Governor, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu said government will do everything possible to address any form of abuse in the state.

Represented by the Executive Secretary of Ondo State Agency Against Gender-Based Violence, Bolanle Afolabi, the Ondo first lady called on parents, teachers and non-teaching staff of schools to ensure conducive and welcoming environment for pupils.

She said government agencies cannot do it alone, hence all stakeholders must play their individual roles.

The Country representative of Westminister Foundation For Democracy, Adebowale Olorunmola said the policy was put in place to protect children under 18 years against violence in the school, at home and on the streets.

Other stakeholders stressed the need to make people who abuse children pay for their acts.

It is expected that more sensitisation campaigns will be extended to the eighteen local government areas of the state, after validation of the child protection policy.
