Karu LG gives Free Surgery, Treatment To residents in Nasarawa

KARU LG OFFERS FREE SURGERY, TREATMENT TO 500 VULNERABLE PERSONS IN NASARAWA STATE

Authorities of Karu Local Government area of Nasarawa State has offered free medical treatment and surgery to Five Hundred Vulnerable people in the area.

The gesture is targeted at cushioning the cost of health care services in the country and complimenting efforts of the state government.

The Vulnerable patients underwent surgery and other treatments at the Maraba Medical Centre in Karu Local Government

Over 500 vulnerable patients are billed to benefit from the gesture in three health facilities across the local government.

The other facilities are the General Hospital Panda and General Hospital Uke.

This is courtesy of the efforts of the authorities of Karu Local Government.

The aim is to offer assistance to vulnerable people who can barely afford health care services such as surgeries in the state.

The gesture is also targeted at complimenting the efforts of the state government in achieving a healthy state and Populace.

Jummai Yakubu has been suffering from fibroid and has had to to live with it for seven years.

But this free medical treatment has brought succour to her.

Ado Wambe was diagnosed with hernia 6 months ago and booked for surgery.

But his financial status deterred him from proceeding with the process which was not affordable and out of reach.

This gesture, for other beneficiaries is a lifetime achievement that will leave an indelible mark on their lives.

This outreach will bring about a reduction in death rate in the council occasioned by poverty and lack of proper medical attention.

Access to healthcare is a major point of discourse for most observers who have called on Government at all levels to make healthcare accessible to Nigerians especially the less privileged and rural dwellers.

The governor has also tried to put measures in place including the National Health Insurance Scheme.

This has largely catered for Salary earners, urban dwellers and people who have access to cities and Other Government services.

Initiatives like the one by the Karu Local Government area of Nasarawa State will go a long way in ensuring people have access to quality healthcare.
