As Nigerians count down to the next 48 hours to celebrate Christmas, the Inspector General of Police has directed officers to intensify on-going raids on identified criminal’s hideouts and flash-points nationwide.
The directive will see police patrol teams deployed on highways and major roads across the country, while surveillance squads would cover worship centres and other public places.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Don Awunah, the directive will cover the 36 states and the FCT.
Conventional policemen and specialised units of the force have been deployed to provide security on the highways.
