Nigeria’s election management body says it has received an interim report from the EFCC indicting more than one hundred of its staff for alleged financial inducement in the legislative re-run elections held in Rivers state.
INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu disclosed that the commission has received the anti graft agency’s report on alleged shady deals in the December the ten rerun legislative poll in Rivers state.
The Commission is also advocating an amendment to the Electoral Act to provide a timeline for the determination of all pre-election petitions.
The Commission says it has commenced preparations for the 2019 general elections with the formulation of a strategic plan to which stockholders are expected to review and make input in no distant time.
