President Muhammadu Buhari has on Sunday evening returned to Abuja from a two-week medical trip to London, the United Kingdom (UK).

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, confirmed this in a tweet around 7:22pm.

“President Muhammadu Buhari just landed in Abuja. Alhamdu Lillahi,” he tweeted.

Buhari left Abuja on Sunday, October 31 for a routine medical check up

On Wednesday, he met with King Charles III for the first time after his accession.

At the meeting, the President said he discussed issues with the King Charles bordering on the King’s interests in Nigeria.

The President left Nigeria two weeks ago for a scheduled medical trip to see his doctors in the United Kingdom.

The President has been receiving treatment from Doctors in the United King since he suddenly fell ill a year into his tenure in 2016.

He was at a point rumoured to have been almost incapacitated and at all times has proven his detractors wrong by always bouncing back better and has looked particularly younger and healthy in recent months.

This trip according to a press release by his Special Adviser media, Femi Adeshina, before his departure is a routine check that is to continue to ensure he is on top of the situation health wise.

The President will end his second term in office on May 29th 2023.

He has vowed to give his maximum support to the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, The ruling party, ASsiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress was also a former Governor of Lagos State, the Nations’ commercial capital and the biggest sub national Economy in Africa.

He emerged the candidate of the party at a Special National Convention and Presidential primary held at the Eagle Square and has since picked former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
