The deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has denied allegations that he forged his National Youth Service Scheme exemption certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Mr Ewhrudjakpo, who spoke through his counsel explained that there was an error in his name in the certificate issued to him and it has since been rectified by the NYSC.

He added that issues relating to his NYSC exemption certificate were already in the public domain, before his nomination as People’s Democratic Party deputy governorship candidate in the last election

But the All Progressives Congress says it has uncovered plan by the Bayelsa state deputy governor, and the PDP to swap the allegedly forged NYSC certificate presented for elections.

According to the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, Yekini Nabena, the party has already obtained the certified true copies of the alleged forged certificates.

He also warns both INEC and NYSC to be cautious and not fall to pressure or move by the deputy governor and PDP.

It will be recalled that an Abuja Area Court, on Wednesday, ordered the Department of State Security to investigate the NYSC Certificate forgery allegation against the Bayelsa Deputy Governor.
