Gov. Matawalle Secures The Release Of Five Kidnap Victims After Six Months In Captivity

Zamfara state Governors Bello Matawalle has secured the release of five kidnap Victims after six months in Captivity.

The Victims are among the twenty three Persons abducted by armed Bandits in Furfuri Village, Bungudu Local Government area of Zamfara State in June this year

Furfuri is Seven Kilometers from Gusau the state Capital

Receiving the Victims at the Government House Gusau, Governor Bello Matawalle says they were rescued through the efforts of the state Committee on Security after two weeks of rigorous search in the forest.

The Governor says the abduction was an act of bandit Informants who are close relations of the Victims

He commend the effort of the Committee for a job well-done and ensuring the kidnap Victims were rescued unhurt

Governor Bello Matawalle adds that the Victims will be medically checked before reuniting them with their families

The Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, again warned against the activities of bandit Informants and those aiding Banditry in any form in the State.

It would be recalled that in June this year, Gunmen suspected to be armed bandits invaded Furfuri Village in Bungudu Local Government Area and abducted twenty three persons including two wives and three children of the former Accountant General of the state, Abubakar Bello Furfuri.

Police in the state is yet to comment on the Development despite phone calls put across to the spokesperson of the command Superintendent Mohammed Shehu.

Communities in Bungudu Local Government area Including Security personnel have suffered attacks and Kidnapping by armed bandits in the last few months, leading to the lost lives of locals and Security Operatives and Operational Vehicles at some points were set Ablaze.

Banditry has been a problem that seems to have defied all types of Solutions put in place by the Bello Matawalle led administration to address it.
