Insecurity in the country, unemployment, poor road infrastructure, adverse situation posed by the flood on food security and the economy of the nation are part of the issues they want the federal government to quickly address.

The Delta State Governor is the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and his emergence following the Presidential Primary of the party in Abuja has split the party into two distinct factions.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, and his allies, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Samuel Ortom of Benue State have called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.

The call according to them was premised on his failure to act as an impartial arbiter and holding him to his promise to resign if a Northerner emerges as the Presidential Candidate of the party.

He has since been steadfast in his refusal to resign saying he cannot be forced out until the end of his 4 year mandate to lead the party.
