Doctors protest killing of OAU Professor, demand justice

Image result for NMA protests killing of OAU Professor in Osogbo, Ile-IfeFederal government has been urged to readdress its security strategies in the event of increasing armed banditry on Nigerian roads. This is coming from the Nigeria Medical Association following the recent killing of a professor of endocrinology and the chairman medical advisory committee, Obafemi Awolowo university teaching hospital, Jerome Elusiyan while on national assignment at Edo state.

TVC News Correspondent, Rafiu Hammed reports that the murder of Professor Jerome Elusiyan is one lost too many to the medical community not only in Osun State but across the country. He was one of the ten endocrinologists the country has.

Members of various medical associations in Osun State are still traumatized by his untimely death.

Joined by the Chief Medical Director of OAU teaching Hospital, the NMA protested against the unfortunate incident in Ife and presented a letter to the Ooni of Ife.

The protest was also held in Osogbo where a letter was delivered to the Commissioner of Police and Secretary to the state Government. The Association of Resident Doctors and Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria also addressed a press conference to condemn the killing.

To them, the protest will continue until the perpetrators of the wicked act are brought to book.
