Nigerian women protest, demand justice for burnt PDP women leader

They said the murder of PDP Women Leader, Salome Abuh, in Lokoja, Kogi state brings to the fore, the dangers women face and experience in their day to day life.

Correspondent Joke Adisa reports that the coalition of women groups has submitted a five-point charter of demands to the government for immediate
action.

The women demanded justice for Salome and many others who have fallen victim of man’s inhumanity to the female gender. They marched through the streets of Abuja to protest all manners of violence against women and girls, saying enough is enough.

Receiving the protesters at federal secretariat, the Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tellen, assured her guests the Buhari administration is keen at redressing all forms of injustice against women, including the killing of Salome

The women also seek an increased budget for the Women Affairs ministry so as to be able to make appreciable impact in line with its set goals.
