IGP dismisses Abuja terror attack, describes alert as fake new

The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman has dismissed the travel advisories issued by the US, UK and some western countries to their citizens on elevated terror threat in Abuja as fake news as appeal to Nigerian Media not transmit such news that are inciting, fake and demeaning.

The Police Chief also faulted manner the US and UK transmitted the alleged Security Alert as he says he men already on alert to quell any insecurity.

Mr. Alkali Stated this during the Inauguration of modern Police Stations in Delta and Edo States in continuation of his infrastructural and capacity building drive to motivate personnel towards effective policing.

In the terror alert, the US embassy had urged its citizens to flee Abuja because of an imminent attack on the nation’s capital.

The US security report reinforced similar advisory earlier issued by the embassies of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and other countries, who also urged their citizens to run for their lives
