The ranks of the All Progressives Congress increased when some prominent members of the opposition people’s Democratic Party in Kogi State jumped ship onto the political platform of the APC., a move governor Bello and his supporters described as an indication of the wide support they enjoy in the state.

Ankpa was filled with heads of supporters of the All Progressives’ Congress and thousands of people seeking to re-elect Yahaya Bello and Edward Onoja as governor and deputy in Kogi State.

Party stalwarts, Chairmen of local government, prominent members of the state executive council, and lawmakers from kogi state are all on the
bandwagon of a political campaign that is getting more people on board.

The 44 year old Yahaya Bello, Flag bearer of the APC and Edward Onoja enjoys a huge following among the youths that make up a significant number
of the voting population.

The campaign in Ankpa, Kogi East Local government is significant because it provides a platform to counter widespread messages of ethnic
sentiments, electoral violence and malpractice.

Supporters of the APC Governorship campaign said the ticket of Governor Yahaya Bello and Edward onoja is a best seller.

The campaign will still go to other parts of the state with hopes of securing more votes ahead of the November 16 ballot.

Meanwhile, the police are making efforts to secure the votes with the deployment of more than 35000 police officers, and the Independent National Electoral Commission says the election will be a credible and transparent poll.

The electorate will choose one between the APC and other political parties seeking to clinch the governorship position on Election Day.
