Textile workers in Nigeria have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the recent Cotton Textile and Garment Policy aimed at revamping the industry.
At its 31st National Education Conference in Abuja, the textile union underscored the place of education in industrial relations.
Correspondent Joke Adisa reports that the Cotton Textile and Garment Policy mandates all military and para military agencies of government to procure their uniforms locally.
The workers believe it is a step towards reviving the moribund textile sector workers.
For the government, the ongoing partial border closure is an indication of its resolve to attain its target of 10 million jobs each year over the next

The three-day conference has as its theme Labour and Industry In the Next Level.
The conference will among others, reflect on the challenges facing the sector and generate ideas for industrial revival, job creation and welfare of workers in the next level of the present administration.
