The two groups celebrated her 63rd posthumous birthday, with colleagues and friends.

Moyo Thomas reports that Stella Ameyo Adedavoh, the Medical Doctor that paid the ultimate price in curbing the spread of Ebola Virus in Nigeria was born on the 27th of October, 1956.

She died from an Ebola infection brought into the country by a Liberian Diplomat, Patrick Sawyer on the 19th of August, 2014

What may have happened in the country is better left to imagination had Doctor Stella Adedavoh not insisted that Patrick Sawyer be quarantined despite diplomatic pressure to release him

The spread of Ebola epidemic in West Africa was very dire between 2013 and 2016. Though the Virus was first recorded in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia were the worst hit for the disease

10, 675 cases were reported in Liberia with 4, 809 deaths before it was contained; Sierra Leone recorded 14, 124 cases and 3, 956 deaths. Guinea had 2,543 deaths from the 3,811 cases it recorded, Mali had 8 cases and 6 died out of the 8.

Twelve people of the 20 recorded to have contacted the Virus In Nigeria survived with the country recording only 8 deaths,  one of which was Dr. Stella Adedavoh

Her efforts together with the medical team on duty the day Patrick Sawyer was taken into the hospital helped saved the lives of thousands or even Millions of Nigerians

She has since been honoured by private Individuals and organizations including google.

ECOWAS at the last Heads of State and Government summit also honoured her, but her friends and colleagues consider it important that Nigeria her home, which she lay down her life for, should also confer her with a posthumous National Honour .
