Three people have died and One hundred and seventy nine persons injured after a passenger plane skidded off the runway and broke into three pieces on landing at an airport in Istanbul.
The Pegasus Airlines jet was carrying 177 passengers and six crew members from Izmir province in the west when it crashed at Sabiha Gokcen airport.
Transport Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan said the Boeing 737 failed to decelerate after a rough landing.

The plane’s fuselage had caught fire but has since been extinguished with other passengers evacuated.
Flights are being diverted after the accident which the transport ministry says was caused by rough landing .
