Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and an aspirant in the 2027 Lagos State governorship race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says he is willing to step down for a consensus candidate if the party leadership eventually adopts that approach.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, Jandor dismissed speculation that any aspirant had been endorsed or anointed for the party’s governorship ticket in Lagos.

He maintained that the process remains open and competitive, stressing that no decision has been taken by the party leadership.

“We restate, in line with the official position of the Lagos State APC leadership as communicated by the State Chairman, that no aspirant has been anointed and that all aspirants will participate in a credible primary election,” the statement reads.

However, he noted that he would abide by any consensus arrangement if adopted by the party.

The statement added: “This is a position anchored on his readiness to compete, and a willingness to submit to the collective will of the party.”

According to Jandor, he remains active in the governorship race and is currently strengthening his grassroots support base while engaging with party stakeholders across the state.

He also urged party members to disregard claims of endorsements or preferred candidates circulating within political circles, warning against misinterpretation of such narratives as the official position of the APC leadership.

“JANDOR urges party members not to mistake a campaign by an individual or a political group for their choice aspirant as the party position or that of our Leader. When the party and our Leader speak, I am sure no one will do otherwise,” the statement reads.
