There is a growing call for genuine reconciliation among leaders of the People’s Democratic Party at the national level to resolve the ongoing crisis and improve the party’s chances of defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in 2027.
This came to fore at a political gathering held in Osogbo.
With the Osun State governorship election coming up next year, the political atmosphere is heating up, with realignments and shifting alliances already taking shape.
At an event to celebration the new year, attended by politicians from different political parties, a leader of the PDP in Osun State, Senator Felix Ogunwale, expressed confidence in the party’s strength at the state level.
However, he stressed the need for similar progress at the national level.
Senator Ogunwale also expressed optimism about the success of the PDP’s reconciliation efforts led by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
On the APC front, former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Moshood Adeoti, who attended the event alongside supporters of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, emphasised that genuine reconciliation among aggrieved APC members in the state can only be effectively handled by party leaders from outside Osun.
