The National Agency For Food, Drug Administration and Control and Community pharmacists have mopped up expired drugs worth over N400 million in Akwa Ibom State.
The professionals say consumption of expired drugs leads to treatment failure, failure of vital organs, and the loss of confidence in the country’s Health system.
The community pharmacists are commended for their integrity and patriotism in letting off the products, irrespective of the financial gains they would have enjoyed.
This is in the body’s efforts to safeguard the pharmaceutical space in the state and counterfeit drugs.
