The Niger state police command has paraded 23 suspects charged with looting and vandalisation of the Tarfa local government secretariat during the nationwide protest.
During a routine press briefing on crime activities in the state, the commissioner of police Ebenezer Danmaman disclosed that the hoodlums were traced to their houses and the looted items were recovered.
As the nationwide protest unfolded, hoodlums took advantage and looted businesses, government offices, parks and damaged public infrastructure causing wide spread violence.

The police also paraded a 29 year old Musemil Abubakar who murdered his father, mutilated his body and buried him in a shallow grave inside their compound.
The suspect confessed to the crime and further explained that he poisoned the food he served him first before mutilating him with a hoe and jack knife.
A stop, search and rescue effort also led to the interception of 15 automatic pump action rifles with 30 cartridges from gun runners who abandoned the cars and fled.
