Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has urged the federal government to let state administrations to take responsibility for the hoisting of hajj pilgrims in the interest of transparency and accountability.
Mr. Fintiri believes that this will stop the alleged corruption in Nigeria’s National Hajj Commission.
The death records in this year’s hajji pilgrimage stands at about 1301, this is based on data released by the saudi Arabia Authority.
The chairman Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Jalal Arabi says 30 Nigerians lost their lives during the exercise.
In Adamawa, two out of the the 1007 pilgrims lost their lives and this has become a source of concern to Governor Fintiri
The governor also received the 2024 Independent Post Hajj report from the State Amirul Hajj team and the management of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Company.
The state Amirul who was represented by his deputy Abdullahi Tukur believes that the document submitted to the government will strengthen the operations of the State Pilgrims Commission and Hajj exercises
On his part, the Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Abubakar Sadiq says the 2024 Hajj exercise was a great success
Despite that, Adamawa state has been recognised as the Best Partner for Hajj 2024.
