2024 budget: Zamfara Gov’t denies allocating N19bn for Gov Lawal’s Kitchen utensils

Zamfara State Government has reacted to the story making the rounds on some online news platforms that nineteen billion naira was allocated for Governor Dauda Lawal’s kitchenware in the 2024 appropriation budget.

The State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Abdulmalik Gajam, at a press conference in Gusau, described the news as false, baseless and mischievous

Mr. Gajam noted that the Dauda Lawal’s administration was voted to restore the lost glory of the state and that is on course and will never be distracted by the handiwork of what he described as enemies of progress

He added that a government that cut costs and reduced its spending to save for the better future of the state cannot budget such an amount for the governor’s kitchen utensils

“Zamfara Government under Lawal is running an open door policy, we welcome media and other stakeholders to verify and access information on any issues that is unclear for them but will not accept any act of spreading unverified information aimed at discrediting our government ” Gajam said.

“As a transparent government, we accept any challenge from any media outfit that sincerely scrutinises our administration with good intentions for the benefit of the general but not to be used as tools for some selfish individuals ” he added.

Mr. Gajam also expressed his dissatisfaction over the fake information which according to him is capable of triggering the mind of Zamfara citizens to react or raise against the government

He again appeared to newsmen always verify the source of their information and and it’s authenticity before going to the press

The Zamfara budget commissioner insist that the state 2024 ‘Budget of Rescue’, is to ensure more revenue generation, less expenditure and transparency

The lawal’s administration since its inception according to him will continue to ensure that all expenditures are in the interest of the state and it’s people.
