The chairman of the independent national electoral commission has expressed worries over the state of insecurity at the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States.
He made the statement at a stakeholders meeting with civil society organizations in Abuja.
In less than 52 days the people of Edo State will go out to perform their civic responsibilities by electing a new governor that will pilot the affairs of the state for the next four years.
As a result of this , INEC is meeting with the civil society organizations in this consultative forum to brief them on the situation of things as regards the elections.
The INEC boss expressed his worries over the security situation in Edo State.
He also appealed to the CSOs to submit their list for accreditation.
The Edo State Governorship Election is scheduled to hold on Saturday 21st September 2024.
