One of the biggest national professional Squash tournaments have started in Lagos.
More than 130 home based players have converged on Nigeria’s largest commercial city for the Prime Atlantic National Senior and Under 16 Squash Championship.
The competition which holds from the 15th to the 20th of July will men and women players as well as under 16 youngsters compete for top prizes and valuable international ranking points
The competition began with a battle of brothers in the qualifiers.
Richard Ejiro defeated his brother Godspower Ejiro 2-1 in the best of three games
Richard overpowered the hard fighting Godspower 11-3, 8-11 and 11-6 to book a place in the main draws.
In another match Oladele Pratt outlasted Abdulsalam Usman 3-1 to win his first round game.
Despite a spirited fightback by Usman in the third game, Pratt defeated him 11-7, 11-1, 12-10 and 12-5.
The girls will take to the courts on Tuesday, the second day of the tournament.
