The Oyo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Isaac Omodewu has declared that there is no room for the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party in the state to take back power in the 2023 election.
He stated this in an interview with newsmen at at an award ceremony held recently in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
Mr Omodewu said PDP has failed in terms of governance adding that the former governor of Oyo state administration can not be compared to the present administration.
He noted that it is self deception for PDP to think of taking back power in the coming 2023 general election despite the issue of education and insecurity in the state.
APC PCC LAUNCHES APP TO BRIDGE KNOWLEDGE AMONG YOUNG NIGERIANS
Ahead of the general elections, the Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC) has launched an application called The “Thinking Caps” to bridge knowledge gap among the young Nigerians.
The app, is also expected to educate, provide vital information and publish the requisite capacity to think out of the box and provide lasting solutions to diverse socio-economic challenges confronting the nation by the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
The young generation otherwise known as Gen Z, is are exposed to news in a different way to their parents or grandparents at the same age.
Young people are consuming content around social issues and events almost constantly.
They are exposed to tech-enabled devices providing constant access to news and user-generated content, and satisfying their enquiries, is no mean feat.
It is due to this development that the APC campaign Council is providing Young people a platform that speaks to their curiosity.
The APC Campaign Council says the opposition Peoples Democratic Party is running a campaign that is not issue based.
Over time, the presidency has spoken to these allegations saying that President Muhammadu Buhari’s support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unquestioned.
INEC TO HOLD MOCK ACCREDITATION FOR VOTERS IN OGUN
The Independent National Electoral Commission says over-voting will continue to mar the Country’s election until Voters in connivance with Politicians stop bypassing the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mutiu Agboke was addressing a stakeholders meeting ahead of the mock accreditation to be conducted on Saturday 4th of February.
The State Election Petitions Tribunal on Friday last week declared Adegboyega Oyetola as the duly elected Governor of the State in the election held on the 16th of July last year.
The majority Judgement agreed with the Petitioners that over-voting occured in 10 local Governments during the election.
At this stakeholders meeting, Mutiu Agboke warned politicians and voters to shun bypassing BVAS on the election day.
The commission plans to hold mock accreditation of eligible voters on Saturday in six local Governments across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
Chairmen of Political Parties, heads of Security Agencies, Civil Society Organizations, the National Orientation Agency and religious leaders were all in attendance.
OSUN APC RAISES THE ALARM OVER ALLEGED PLANS TO SCUTTLE PARTY’S PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN RALLY
The All Progressives Congress in Osun state has alleged the people’s democratic party of planning to scuttle Tinubu/Shettima presidential rally slated for Thursday in Osogbo, the state Capital.
Addressing journalists in Osogbo, State Chairman of the Party, Tajudeen Lawal said they got wind of the sinister plans through reliable intelligence.
According to him, part of ways planned by the PDP to carry out their nefarious acts include: use of branded APC camouflage and fake security uniforms, as well as staging of protest with the intent to cause commotion during the presidential campaign
He alleged that the PDP members have also planned to station rented urchins and thugs to hurl stones on Tinubu’s convoy.
Spokesperson of Tinubu’s presidential campaign council, Remi Omowaye equally lamented that series of violence have been unleashed on the APC members since the tribunal declared Adegboyega Oyetola winner of July 16 Governorship election.
He called on the inspector general of police, Usman Baba Alkali and other sister security agencies to intervene towards foiling the sinister moves and ensuring peaceful atmosphere for the APC presidential campaign.
