A House of Representatives Aspirant for Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji federal Constituency in Zamfara Sani Alti wants the people’s Democratic Party to honor court judgement and conduct a fresh primary election for the Constituency.
Justice Iyang Ekong of the federal high court Abuja, had on Monday 21st November nullified the primary election that produced Sani Umar as the party’s flag bearer for Kaura Namoda/ Birnin Magaji federal Constituency and ordered for a fresh primary election within Fourteen days
With less than three months to next year’s General Election, the People’s Democratic Party in Zamfara is yet to know it’s fate for Kaura Namoda/ Birnin Magaji federal Constituency
This follows a federal high court judgement that annulled the primary election conducted in may this year by the PDP that produced Sani Umar Dangaladima, a serving member of the green chamber as the party’s flag bearer
Sani Ibrahim Alti one of the aspirants contesting for the green chamber seat had approached a federal high court in Abuja seeking the nullification of the primary election over irregularities and non compliance with PDP’s constitution and the 2022 Electoral act
He commend the judiciary over what he described saying the court is the last hope for the common man and is as Victory for the people of Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji federal Constituency
“I approached a federal high court in Abuja to nullify the primary election conducted my our great party the PDP over some irregularities that took place during the primary election we had in may this year in Gusau, the Capital of Zamfara State” Hon. Alti said.
“The primary election was marred by irregularities such as bridge of the party’s Constitution, Electoral act 2022 among others ” he added
“The person that defeated me in the last primary election, though with only three votes is a serving member of the House of Representatives and he is not a member of the PDP, Because he defected with Gov. Bello Matawalle from the party to the Ruling APC and has been there until a few hours to the primary election we saw him at the party’s secretariat even with that the election was not credible” Alti Alleges.
“I thank God for the Victory in the case and our party is yet to say anything regarding the fresh primary election the court ordered for within Fourteen days which will elapse this Sunday. we only have three days from now” he maintained
” Iam appealing to our great party, the PDP to honor the court order and conduct a fresh primary election before the expiration of the dateline which is this Sunday, 4th December. We have only three day from now” Alti Explain
The thirty three Year old grassroot politician alleged that some key party members are frustrating every efforts to ensure that no fresh primary election is hold and his life is been threatened by some Politicians over the matter
” I’ve been threatened by so many Politicians over the cancellation of the primary election and my quest for fresh Election, but I will continue to push till I achieve my goal of winning Elections at the primary and General election come 2023 to represent my people at the green chamber of the National Assembly” Sani said
Sani Alti appealed to party members and all his supporters to remain calm and peaceful as he his confident of Victory.
