Zamfara Revenue board defends 2023 budget

Executive Chairman of the Zamfara state Board of Internal Revenue, Ali Akilu Dama and management staff of the board have appeared before the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance for the 2023 Budget defence.

Governor Matawalle had on November 17 presented N188.8b as the 2023 appropriation bill to the state House of Assembly for Consideration and passage.

The Zamfara state Board of Internally Generated Revenue is a state owned revenue generated agency.

Defending the budget before the House Committee on finance, Akilu Dama expresses Confidence that the agency will justice to it’s budget for the Development and progress of the state.

While commending the tireless efforts of the Matawalle’s administration in changing the narrative of Zamfara State, Akilu Dama said the agency under his watch will not relent

The ZBIRS Boss adds that compliance with tax laws will help the board achieve it’s desired goals of generating Revenue to the state.

Mr. Dama also expresses dismay over the attitude of some agencies in paying their taxes as at when due.

He appeal to all agencies and individuals to do well in paying their taxes especially in the coming year

On its part, the Zamfara state House of Assembly Committee on Finance says all MDA’s 2023 fund will be allocated based on their performance in the year under review.

Chairman of the committee Shamsudeeen Bosko assures of the Committee’s support and cooperation to all agencies while following due process based on revenue consolidated law.

Zamfara State Board of Internal Revenue under it’s current Chairman Ali Akilu Dama has achieved alot in tax payment and revenue Generation in recent times.

The Agency has been described as one of the best state owned Internal Revenue generation agency.

Budget defence for the year 2023 by other agencies is still Ongoing at the Zamfara state House of Assembly.
