Photographer, Dayo Adedayo, has been speaking on why Nigerians should vote for the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dayo Adedayo who has put together an exhibition of very rare pictures of events involving the former Lagos State Governor, said he remains the best choice for the Job of leading Nigeria out of the Crossroads it currently is.
He added that Nigerians don’t normally celebrate visionary leaders or Leadership when they are alive made references to the nations’ Independence Leaders whose visionary leadership was never celebrated when they were alive.
He urged Nigerians to vote for him while also saying that the younger generation in Lagos and Nigeria do not understand or know what Lagos was like in 1999 when Asiwaju Tinubu became the State governor.
He said going to Oshodi or navigating through some parts of the State will normally take a whole day ion those heady days.
He lauded him for the introduction of agencies such as LASTMA, LAWMA and the vision to bring up the idea of electricity generation by State through the defunct ENRON, the then American Energy giant.
He also called for people to look at the Bar Beach and the lack of distinct solution to address it Other than the pouring of sand in the name of shoreline protection.
He said Asiwaju’s intervention through the creation of the Eko Atlantic City has ensured that the Victoria Island as it is known today still remains on the map of Lagos and Nigeria.

There is probably European language that says the person that is going to clothe you, you have to look at what the person is wearing. Right. And that is what I will start with you. If you look at you talked about the flood not too long ago. Without the Eko Atlantic, there might not be Victoria Island today. And in some of the pictures I gave you, you will see the old Bar Beach, being eaten up by Atlantic Ocean.
The Federal Government will just be sending money from Abuja three, four billion in those days. Probably like $4 billion, right? Just to do shore protection, this guy came up and said, no, we must have a permanent solution to this thing.
Mind you, the federal government controls the waterways. Exactly. The United States. So that’s number one. Number two, which is very good for the younger generation. There are a lot of people do that one. Think about I don’t know whether I should say it’s a national tale or not, but this is a conversation between me and Asiwaju, just the two of us, when he was going to some pictures.
The comedians of today owe Asiwaju Bola Tinubu a lot without the Eko Hotel Convention Center, which a lot of people do not think about, the entertainment industry will not be where it is today. They usually go to the beach in Badagry or the what is it called Bar Beach or those places they all like to have concerts.
There was an event to be hosted by Nigeria and there is no convention at all in Nigeria. And as you had told me in this story how you went to go and meet the Chagoury’s, owners of the hotel, that this is a great opportunity for you, you have to find one way or the other to build a convention center which led to the Eko hotel convention center today.
And proud to the coconut idea was going on, I had the conversation on that very issue too. So for someone who can see the future and bring things together, for me, Nigeria is at a crossroad at the moment.
And once in every country or in every nation’s lifetime, things happened. And that person will come, the Abraham will come that will lead you might not see the hand, I’m sure you won’t see the greater Nigeria, but I’m 100% sure it will lead us to the promise line.
That’s number two. There is another picture that I sent to you. If Exco members look at that picture critically and look at the faces of those who are in the picture and go back to the program that I told you about. The person that is going to plug you, that is going to buy you clothes, you have to look at what the person is wearing.
You can’t say you want to give me ten Euro and I know you don’t own one Euro. So where will you get a ten Euro from? So Asiwaju knows.
For me, sorry, I want to refer to what Asiwaju represents it is our Abraham of today. Unfortunately, in this part of the world, we don’t celebrate our own when they are alive, it’s when they are gone.
This is the time for Nigeria and nationality. I pray as you are doing the election and my whole take is Nigeria is at a crossroad. You shouldn’t play party politics. Let’s get the best for Nigeria, whether it’s a Labor Party, whether it’s in PDP, they should form a government that will move the country forward. Why should Nigeria be doing very well outside the shores of Nigeria? And the moment you get to Murtala Muhammed Airports, this was the first thing it did. This is dumb. Book. Do you see this in Lagos? The younger generation,
This is what he inherited. And guess what? What Governor Babajide Sanwoolu will do is even doing now with the rail line coming on board in December is going to change the face of Lagos completely. Now imagine if Goodluck Jonathan or Obasanjo has done what Asiwaju is doing in Lagos. To have a community at the federal level. We won’t be talking about before you because there is another picture where you will see the road being washed off.
I don’t know whether you have it. Yeah, of course, if they can go back to that. So for me, I showed you to me is 25 to 40 years ahead of us. And we don’t get that all the time. It’s only once in a generation. I mean, we talked about the likes of Chief Obafemi Awolowo or Sardauna and Michael Opara, which a lot of people have not even given credit to in the First Republic.
If you look at what these guys have done, nobody has been able to achieve what those three men did in their days. Now we have an actual idea at life with us. It’s just like Ebinisabi that I referred to as the second greatest philosopher ever this world has ever seen. After Orunmila, we don’t celebrate our own. I always celebrate Benizzo because this is jewelry. This is what I want to inherited. The younger generation don’t have a clue where we are coming from. News displaces memory. Absolutely.
A lot of young people or not.
There is another picture of Asiwaju. If you go to this is what Ashwaji inherited in Lagos. This was before LAWMA. Asiwaju created LAWMA. Yes. The top point is let’s take LASMA out of Lagos for two days. It will be disaster that’s whispered as the Commissioner for works.
This was the day LAWMA was inaugurated. Right. Let’s take LAWMA off. Lagos rules for two days.
So it’s a whole day’s project if you’re going to Oshodi those days.
Because if you want to go further down, you have to find a way to buy the old Molue. Yes, we don’t see this anymore. So that is what I do. Photographers. This is social day too, where you have the bus terminal.
Now this is Oshodi as well, where you have the bus terminal. So for me as a photographer, because it has really changed now. This young generation do not see what we have seen. And it’s not your fault. To me, there is no they showed somewhere. This is the first time it came back from Memory. Look at all the south dan governments. Where are they?
Look at his commission as far as the vice president over there sending out to Kumariku. So when you look at this man, what he has done, where he came from, then you have to do your heart for him. And that is why I keep telling people, look at this.
And this is what the federal government kept doing. Just pumping sand and all of it. Look at the business community. And this is the first Enron barge. Asiwaju was the first governor in Nigeria to go private to say why should Lagos not generate his own electricity? Yes, it brought in Enron and that is in over there. I mean, I can’t remember the day what I think that is the beginning of the country having a discourse.
