The Niger state governor Abubakar Sani Bello has presented a budget estimate of Two hundred and thirty eight billion naira to the state House of Assembly for the year 2023.
This would be the last budget presentation by his administration, and Governor Sani Bello says the Fiscal Estimate is designed to consolidate its past achievements in moving the state forward.
The proposed budget estimate for 2023 fiscal year as presented by governor Sani Bello is Two hundred and thirty eight billion, nine hundred and twenty four million, four hundred and fifty seven thousand naira.

The figure is slightly higher than the 2022 budget by 2.9%.
A total of one hundred and forty seven million, eight hundred and seventy nine million, representing 61.89% of the total budget was earmarked for capital expenditure.
Critical sectors like health had 17.4 billion while 22.5 billion was allocated to the education sector.
The budget, the governor says, is aimed at completing projects that have reached completion stage of 80%.
He notes that the Minna-Bida road will be completed in the coming year with 28 billion naira coming from partners.
Before presenting the budget Governor Sani Bello gave a score card of the 2022 budget performance.
He said despite the low revenue generated in the year under review, the various roads projects within the state especially in Minna the state capital were completed while some are ongoing .
Governor Bello also emphasised the need to look inward to grow the state’s economy, the Governor stressed the need for a review of its Internally Generated Revenue
He said attention would be given to infrastructural development to attract private sector investment to enhance earnings.
The budget is tagged “Budget of Consolidation and Transition”.
This will be the last time this administration will be performing this function which it has carried out over the last 7 years of stewarding the resources of the state.
