NCDMB donates ICT facility to GSS Kalgo in Daura

 

The Minister of state for petroleum resources, Timipre Sylva has commissioned a cutting-edge ICT facility donated to Government Secondary School (GSS) Kalgo in Daura by Nigeria content development monitoring Board.

This is part of efforts by the federal government to ensure the younger generation acquire wide knowledge of ICT early to prepared them for changing global trends.

Governments in the past had initiated similar efforts introduce ICT to students in primary and secondary schools in the state but this did not yield much success due to issues of power and Maintenance.

But there is an increasing need to expose rural schools to the ICT world with the way technology is being adapted on a regular basis to avoid leaving a large part of the Nigerian population behind.

The Nigeria Content Development Monitoring Board is a federal government agency tasked with creating local content through annual programs.

The center is designed to accommodate a large number of students at once and can be expanded in the future.

The Emir of Daura assured the Minister that the emirate will take steps to guarantee that this intervention is properly maintained.

Timipre Sylva was also presented with a letter of appreciation and nomination as an emirate counselor during his visit to the Emir’s palace in Daura.
