The father of a former Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Board of Trustee Chairman of the Action Democratic Party, Alani Bankole, has called for a change in Nigeria’s system of government from the Presidential to Parliamentary System
Speaking with Journalists about the state of things in Nigeria and efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari in wiping out corruption in the land, Alani
Bankole said change of system of government remains the main solution to some of the problems facing the country.
He said Nigeria has practised parliamentary and Presidential System of government but benefitted more under perliamentary.
The elder statesman noted that restructuring and local government autonomy cannot provide desired results for the country’s political stability, adding that many Politicians are not credible but would be forced to do so, if they operate under a parliamentary system.
He also condemned high rate of insecurity in the land and urged the government to do what is good for the country, just like it was in the past
before the military interruption.
