The police has arrested some suspected murders in Lagos. In a statement made by the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, DSP Bala Elkana, he said investigations are ongoing and the cases will be charged to Court.
“At about 11.30am, on On 26th April, 2019 one Comrade Oshin Aderigbigbe later identified as the Public Relations Officer, Joint Campus Committee (JCC), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Lagos axis , reported at Okokomaiko Police Station with blood gushing out of his body and stated that he was attacked by three young men who dispossessed him of his handset and laptop and stabbed him with a knife.
“He was rushed to the hospital but eventually died.
“The leader of the hoodlums that attacked him, 21yr old Bashiru Ahmed a.k.a Kawu of Okoko was arrested.
“He confessed to have committed the crime along with two of his friends who are now at large. The said Bashiru Ahmed who is the son of a popular traditional ruler in Okoko, is a notorious criminal who was charged to court on several occasions by the Police for sundry offenses.
“He returned from prison six months ago and has been on the watchlist of the Police.
In another case, “On the 27th of April, 2019 at about 2.45pm, Dopemu Police Station received a distress call that some persons engaged themselves in a fight at a drinking joint along OGUNBAMBI Street Agege.
“A team of Policemen from Dopemu Police Station was drafted to the scene to restore order. Preliminary investigation carried out revealed that one 37yr old Bukola Oluwaseun of Adeyola Street Dopemu was stabbed on the neck with a bottle by one 42yr old Sunday Isiah of No. 20 Olufeso Street Dopemu.
“The victim died on the way to hospital and his corpse was deposited at the Mortuary for post mortem examination”.
The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu mni has therefore ordered the immediate transfer of the cases to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti for discreet investigation.
Detectives have also spread their tentacles to trace the remaining two suspects on the run.
