Political activities have continued to heat up in Rivers State ahead of the 2019 general election.
This follows the defection of some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state.
After almost three years since the 2015 polls, the decampees claim to have come to the realization that only the PDP can take the state and indeed the nation to the next level.
Politics is often described as game of numbers, therefore with the addition of almost 4000 persons to the PDP’s membership strength, the party is optimistic of election victory come 2019.
At the event, 780 persons from Ikwerre Local Government Area also benefitted from an empowerment program targeted towards the promotion of education and development of Agriculture.
Organizers are also hopeful that this gesture will go a long way in discouraging youth of the state from venturing into crime.
