The House of Representatives has moved to amend the Act establishing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, as a way of strengthening the agency.
The bill seeking to provide for quick recovery procedures for stolen assets and the establishment of the economic and financial crimes court scaled second reading after extensive debate.
The proposed amendment also seeks to take the power of appointment of the Commission’s head from the President.
